Fallacies of Beauty

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Is the first  thing you look for is your flaws? Or do you see something wrong with your personality? Do you second guess your Character?

Self-image sometimes becomes a contradiction to most individuals due to self perception. Perception can be best described as a mental impression. Pay close attention because we live in a world filled with people who do not know how to perceive themselves but yet have unstoppable opinions and knowledge on how to perceive others ! The questions do I identify with my physicality first or my personality because what is emphasized dominantly in our society is physicality.

Everyone becomes aware of themselves first through the five senses. We identify and rationalize our behaviors specifically through sight, sound, touch, taste, and hearing. Allowing, these 5 components to determine just our physicality while ignoring the person within. Just as a person can perceive the glass half empty or half full concerning problems, self-image, people, or situations it is the mental impression that leaves us confident or pessimistic.

In an astounding article by the “Daily Mail”, coordinated by “Dove” for their “Choose Beautiful Campaign” surveys revealed that 96% out of 100 Women believe they are average! This survey was conducted in five different countries the results were practically the same! Participants had to choose between walking through a door titled “beautiful” or “average”. At an alarming rate many women walked through the door “average.”  Why are we taught not to think highly of ourselves? If we believe we are beautiful souls with beautiful minds then we are! In God’s words He says ” For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Proverbs 23:7.

We were bought into this world believing that every single part of us is complete with nothing missing. Surely, many would call that person humble if they believe they had a beautiful soul, mind, and body! It makes you wonder, is it really wrong that the Kardashians are completely in love with themselves and what they look like? Perhaps not.
Fallacies of Beauty  begin when we allow someone, something, or the world to determine if we are beautiful. Fallacies of Beauty begins when we don’t take the time out to identify with our inner beings first before we judge our exterior. Fallacies of Beauty also begins when we become so wrapped up in the latest fashions and trends that we forget to love and strengthen each other to a greater sisterhood rather than competing.
Fallacies of Beauty becomes a mindset when we entertain  thoughts that we may not be good enough! So what is a fallacy? A fallacy is a mistaken belief based on unsound reasoning and facts. So, who determines that your beauty is actually factual? What proof is there? Absolutely none!

Think about what you are thinking about!

The human body is the most complex and unique organism in the world, and that complexity and uniqueness speaks volumes about the mind our Creator. Every aspect of the body, down to the tiniest microscopic cell, reveals that it is fearfully and wonderfully made. Remember God Makes no Mistakes!
1 Peter 3:3-4 | Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.  4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
2 Corinthians 4:16 |Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 ESV |and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 -New International Version
