Leonard Spring 2018
The ready-to-wear collection with sail dresses and disco spins on the house’s signature florals. The show opens with masculine tailoring, streamlined pea jackets, reworked raincoats, structures outlined in white, layered with stripes and floral prints. The garments are gradually deconstructed. Overcoats and parka jackets come with shawl collars or kimono cuts.
Noon by Noor Resort
Bahraini-based brand Noon by Noor is not showing signs of tailing off designers Shaikha Noor and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa exclusively reveal on Vogue. The first peeks at the Pre-Fall 2018 collection look as crisp, confident, and laser-focused on quality as ever before.
Noon by Noor’s resort offering was an evolved collection with light, botanical details. Always creating designs based on the fusion between the masculine and feminine, designers found a nice balance for spring with evening silhouettes and deluxe separates with great tailoring. The mood was elegant yet relaxed enough for an afternoon garden party.Elie Saab Resort 2018
The designers rich embellishment and intricate embroideries signature to Saab’s gowns are as incredible as the fact that he is self-taught and started designing at age nine. This season it’s about: Mega-watt glamour infused with a renewed femininity manifests in a lineup of incredible dresses and jumpsuits a Saab must-have.
For the most part, though, he sidelined the more casual attitude he’s lately embraced in favor of full-on glamour. The vivid tie-dye motif on a caftan gown evoked birds of paradise, and a deep green palm-leaf print on evening suiting called to mind J.Lo in that unforgettable cut-down-to-there Versace. Saab made a big play for accessories this season, too—not just mirrored sunglasses, shoulder-duster earrings, bangles and, crystal-studded stockings too! I guess we will wait to see if this trend takes off!
